Finding Bears in Ice

Ti Kouka children enjoyed digging bears out of the ice. They used salt to try and make the ice melt faster.

When finished the water was tipped out on the asphalt. They next day every one noticed white glistening areas.

BUILD A LEGO BALANCE

During Maths this week our challenge at the lego table was to build a LEGO Balance.

Curriculum objective
Mathematics;
Measurement
• Order and compare objects or events by length, area, volume and capacity, weight (mass), turn (angle), temperature, and time by direct comparison and/or counting whole numbers of units.

Lots of people in the studio were really adventurous and gave it a go. (ACHIEVER)

They had to think very carefully and problem solve what pieces would be used to make it work and be balanced. (THINKER)
They also had to co-operate and collaborate with others sharing their ideas and trialling and making mistakes. (COMMUNICATOR AND INTERACTOR)
